Ali lives, moves and practices her Druidry in the lovely, thrice-rivered city of Pittsburgh, where she dwells on the edge of a wooded park with her fiancé, her cat, her pet frogs and her houseplants.
A member of the Ancient Order of Druids in America and the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids, her spiritual studies revolve around a fascination with theology, peacemaking, ecology, Celtic mythology and ritual aesthetics, as well as a love of song and a great deal of poetry. She writes frequently on these themes on this blog, as well as contributing essays to publications such as Sky Earth Sea, Patheos.com, Pagan+Politics and, of course, The Witches' Voice.

An Astrological Analysis
Sun in Gemini, 9th house, trine Pluto & Saturn, conjunct Mars (in 8th house), opposite Neptune. Ali's ego-self feels ultimately safe and secure, both in terms of practical day-to-day living and in social situations. She may be shy or unassuming or uninterested in social or practical life, but she does not feel deeply or personally threatened to the extent that it impinges on her sense of self. Also, her primary focus is on the present moment. She has good powers of self-discipline and has a sense of her own destiny, and she is possessed of considerable courage and strength of will. Her courage and willpower drive her to continually seek transformation and rebirth. She may be prone to flights of fancy or illusion, but this same tendency gives her the courage to commit to her ideals. These aspects of her character are most strongly expressed in the realm of research, philosophy, and higher learning.
Moon in Libra, 12th house, trine Mercury, sextile Venus, Uranus, and Jupiter. Ali's emotional core is one which feels at home on the Earth and with other people; and she is emotionally focused on her future and her potential. She finds it easy to express her emotions, and they serve her well in social interactions, though they can change unpredictably and are quite powerful — both in the sense of having a powerful effect on her, and in the sense of giving her personal power and strength. These aspects of her character are most strongly expressed in the area of spirituality.
Jupiter in Sagittarius, 2nd house, conjunct Uranus, trine Venus, sextile the Moon, opposite Mercury. Ali often feels less powerful in the realm of practical matters like food and safety, but is confidently powerful in interpersonal relationships and dealing with hierarchy. When exercising her personal power, she focuses on the present moment. While her sense of personal power can be stronger or weaker unpredictably, it is always strongest when connected to her emotional core (i.e. spiritually) and in interactions with others, and most particularly in the realm of ideas and ideals. One of her challenges is to bring her power to bear on the realm of communication; there is a strong indication of a career as a communicator.
Venus in Leo, 10th house. Indications here are that in times of intimacy or deep interactions with others, Ali is naturally drawn or pulled towards positions of leadership, especially professionally. This is supported by her spiritual emotional core, as well as her personal power in the realm of ideas and ideals.
Saturn in Libra, 1st house, conjunct Pluto and the Ascendant, trine the Sun and Mars, sextile Neptune. Authority and destiny figure prominently in Ali's chart, and are tightly bound to the connection between her spiritual and mundane lives. Indications are that she herself will become an authority, in the sense of authority-through-truth, the natural authority that comes from the expression of the power of the truth. For her, authority and destiny are part of her system of ideals, and are wrapped up with her sense of self. She has considerable personal presence, which can cause people to instinctively defer to her (or push her away, depending on their own connection to truth). This part of her personality is stimulated and balanced by strong personal relationships.
